Context has appointed Senior Landscape Architect Heather Wilkins to lead the firm’s landscape architecture offering, enhancing our holistic and integrated approach to design and delivery — and marking the advent of a bold new phase for the company.
This additional service reduces some of the traditional challenges associated with multi-siloed practices working on a development, and it enables our team to mitigate challenges, streamline the design process, and ultimately deliver a better result for our clients and their end users.
Heather brings a collaborative approach to her role at the helm of Context’s landscape architecture team, as well as her considerable experience including GIS and infrastructure and spanning sectors including residential aged care, large residential developments, and high-profile public sector projects. Her passion lies in broad and inclusive engagement aimed at creating landscape strategies that balance client needs with the environmental, social, and cultural implications of a given development.
Heather uses the constant evolution of landscape ecology as both inspirational fuel and the bedrock of her design philosophy: that worthwhile landscape architecture should function for and enhance both the present and the future.
‘What’s important to me is taking a collaborative approach that considers cross-functional teams and each one’s desired outcomes,’ she says. ‘For example: balancing commercial constraints with ecological considerations and ultimately focusing on the people who’ll be affected by the proposed development.’
Context shares Heather’s enthusiasm for building the profile of the landscape architecture team, allowing them to contribute meaningfully — and early — to the unified project vision.
‘Heather echoes our belief that well-designed spaces can improve quality of life and support thriving ecologies,’ notes Managing Director Stephen Voyle. ‘We’re excited to offer our clients a truly integrated approach that’ll help us to execute with excellence, and Heather’s a vital part of that continued evolution. We’re delighted to welcome her to the Context team.’
