Context Architects Declares

04 September 2019

Context Architects joins industry professionals in leading a positive change in how we respond to climate and biodiversity breakdown.

Architects Declare NZ is a national initiative to raise awareness of global climate and biodiversity emergencies, and demand urgent action in our industry. The movement was first launched in the UK earlier this year and has since been introduced in countries around the globe, including Australia, Norway and Italy.

As founding signatories, Context joins 48 other practices registered with the New Zealand Registered Architects Board (NZRAB) in helping lead a shift in the design and construction industries. Together, we’re committing to putting climate and biodiversity first, and beginning to adopt regenerative design principles across all of our studios.

Scott Cracknell Context Principal explains, “Architects Declare is about coming together as an industry to commit to changing the way we operate. We’re envisioning a built environment that not only doesn’t cause harm, but helps to regenerate our environment. And we’re encouraging our clients and others in the industry to do the same.”
